Our Beliefs
The following is a synopsis of our beliefs. A full Church Statement of Faith can be found in a copy of our Bylaws.
ChristChurch Baptist is independent – not part of any convention or national organization; fundamental – believe the entire Bible literally.
The Bible. We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God and that it is our final authority for faith and practice. The King James Version of the Bible is the official translation used by the church.
1 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21
God. God is a Person, eternally existing in unity as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost – three Persons yet one God.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 26:19; 1 Corinthians 8:6
Jesus Christ. Eternally existing, Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, who became a sinless man to redeem sinful man. He was virgin-born, and is true God and true man.
Luke 1:30-55; John 1:1-15; Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 1:15
Sin. Man was created in the image of God but fell by choice through sin, bringing physical and spiritual death into the world and separation from God. Now all of mankind exists as a fallen race, with an inherited sinful nature.
Genesis 1:26-27; 2:16; 3:16-19; Romans 3:10-23; 6:23
Salvation. We believe salvation is a gift of God by grace through faith in the Son of God who shed His blood as payment for man’s sin.
Luke 24; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 5:8-10; Ephesians 1:20-23; 1 Peter 3:18
The Church. The local church is a body of saved, baptized believers, bound together for edification, exhortation and evangelism as commanded in the Great Commission.
Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:12; Ephesians 2:19-22
End Times. We believe Christ will soon rapture His church before the Tribulation; after this period He will set up a 1000-year reign of righteousness. Then all unbelievers will be judged at the Great White Throne, to be cast into the Lake of Fire, while believers will spend eternity in Heaven.
Matthew 24:29-42; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Revelation 19:11-20:13
